We're choosing Low Carbon

Our Digital Commitment
What does our Low Carbon approach involve?
At Auron, precision, control and respect for the environment are part of our identity. Today, this commitment also extends to our online presence.

Digital technology accounts for almost 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions. In response, we have chosen to completely rethink our website to reduce its impact.

Our new platform follows a Low Carbon approach: a streamlined interface, optimised design, reduced data consumption and smoother navigation. The goal is to offer an online experience that is intuitive, efficient and more responsible.

Anti-litter initiative: Dernier Planté de Bâton
Since 1996, esf Auron has actively taken part in the “Dernier Planté de Bâton,” a national cleanup day organised with the SNMSF and Mountain Riders. At the end of each season, our instructors swap their skis for gloves and garbage bags, giving back to nature what it has shared with us all winter.

More than just a cleanup, this action represents our concrete and lasting commitment to protecting natural spaces. It’s an annual event that perfectly embodies the responsible and supportive spirit of our school.

Sort, for a cleaner planet
At esf Auron, we believe performance and responsibility go hand in hand! Waste sorting has become a daily routine, helping us minimise our impact. By managing and recycling efficiently, we protect the mountains while encouraging our team and visitors to adopt this simple yet powerful habit.

This year, we’re going further: during the children’s torchlight descents, mulled wine and hot chocolate will be served in recyclable cups, cutting waste while sharing a cozy, eco-friendly moment.

Together, we can make a difference for a cleaner, greener future.

An eco-designed building at the heart of Auron
Led by Nicolas Marin, our new building is the result of an eco-responsible design that reflects our deep commitment to the mountains. Using local, sustainable materials, high-performance insulation and integrated solar panels, it combines comfort, elegance and environmental respect.

The project was entirely carried out by esf Auron instructor-craftsmen, showcasing local expertise in sustainable construction!

Here, modernity meets energy efficiency and landscape harmony — a space built to last while preserving the natural beauty of Auron.

Our worn-out gear becomes renewable energy
At esf Auron, we turn every bit of waste into something new!

We’ve collected over 104 kg of used gear, recycled through a partnership with Triethic, a social enterprise that converts these textiles into sustainable energy in the form of RDF*.

A concrete example of combining ecology and social responsibility, where everyone wins: the planet, people, and the mountains we love to protect!

*RDF: Refuse-derived fuel made from these non-hazardous wastes provides a clean, efficient alternative to fossil fuels, with optimised combustion and reduced CO₂ emissions.
